International IPR expert Prof Shubha Ghosh from USA in ConnectONE

A talk was organized on 15th December, 2011 Thursday by Professor Shubha Ghosh from University of Wisconsin, USA on "Business Strategies for Commercializing Intellectual Property". His talk mainly focused on the following:

  • Recognizing intellectual property as a business asset
  • Intellectual property within the firm- Employment and Licensing Issues
  • Business models for disseminating intellectual property

About the speaker: Professor Shubha Ghosh

Professor Ghosh is teaching as Vilas Research Fellow & Professor of Law since 2008 and having experience of over sixteen years in the University of Wisconsin. He has held positions as a tenured full professor at SUNY-Buffalo Law School and SMU Dedman School of Law. He is engaged as an active scholar and teacher; and has also served as a consultant on several intellectual property and antitrust cases with national law firms, such as Weil, Gotschall & Manges; The Orrick Law Firm; Haynes & Boone; Bickel & Brewer; Caddell & Chapman. Professor Ghosh has also worked with the World Intellectual Property Organization on the relationship between traditional knowledge and legal systems. He has also provided legal commentary for Squawk Box, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Marketplace on NPR, Financial Times, and other media publications. He has his MA, PhD (economics) from "The University of Michigan" & JD with distinction, from Stanford Law School.
