Explore the opportunities with ConnectONE
As part of ConnectONE initiatives to enhance and foster entrepreneurship, a meeting titled,"Opportunities in the field of Entrepreneurship" was held at Amritapuri Campus, Kollam on 16th December 2010.
On this occasion, Director of ConnectONE Mr. Sujit Banerjee briefed the role of entrepreneurship and its importance in the growth of a nation and its economy. "India is developing economically and opportunities galore in entrepreneurship.The nation would get the maximum benefit, if youngsters explore the opportunities in this field and open up new enterprises," he explained.
Mr. Banerjee also explained how an entrepreneur should approach a preset goal to attain success in life. Eminent experts in the industry delivered lectures covering entrepreneurship climate and ecosystem of the country, Factors affecting entrepreneurship development, Why do giant corporate (like IBM, XEROX and MOTOROLA) have failed in building success stories, Will and How entrepreneurship development gears economic development and financing risks of innovation.The meeting was attended by several TBI managers, the ConnectONE directors and leading businessmen.
Mr. Sujith Banerjee, Director, ConnectONE
Mr.Sujith Banerjee is the Director/Scientist – F, National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board. He is also the director of ConnectONE project. He had worked in MNCs in the R&D division for six years. He was engaged in the development of Drives, Inverter and Power supplies for computer systems. He worked on the development of Digital drives and Switched mode power supplies. In addition to this, he also took the charge of training Centre and provided technical support to the marketing team. In 1989 Sujit Banerjee joined the Department of Science & Technology. He is involved in promotion of knowledge-based and technology driven enterprises.
Innovation and entrepreneurship is the key areas that his expertise lies. In addition to the entrepreneurship development he looks after the IT applications in the department and has developed many web-based solutions for the department, including a web-based project monitoring system. Besides entrepreneurship development photography, travelling and networking keeps him busy. He is also fond of reading and music. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi University and subsequently did his Diploma in Management from Delhi.
